Disclaimers & privacy
The plain-English version first: this site is advertising, nothing here is legal advice, no outcome is ever guaranteed, and reaching out doesn't make me your lawyer until we both sign an agreement.
Attorney advertising
This website is an advertisement and a communication concerning the availability of legal services. Responsible attorney: Rudyard "Jake" Jewell-Cohen, State Bar of California No. 298384, 1301 Dove St., Suite 120, Newport Beach, CA 92660. Practices law in California only. This site is not directed at, and legal services are not offered for, matters outside California.
No guarantee of results
Nothing on this website promises, guarantees, warrants, or predicts the outcome of any legal matter. Any case results described were dependent on the specific facts of those cases; results differ from case to case, and past results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in your matter. Results identified on this site were obtained while an attorney at Bisnar Chase; every case is different and past results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
Fees and costs — the full disclosure
Personal injury matters are accepted on a contingency-fee basis: no attorney's fee is owed unless there is a recovery, and the fee is a percentage of that recovery. Contingency fee rates are not set by law and are negotiable. Case costs and expenses (such as filing fees, records, and experts) are separate from the attorney's fee. If there is no recovery: under the firm’s standard written agreement, you are not asked to repay the case costs the firm advanced, but only if all of these are true: you followed the firm’s advice throughout the case; the firm represented you through to the end of the case; you were fully honest with the firm about the facts, past claims and medical history; and there was no recovery. If any of those is not true, you may owe the costs the firm advanced. Costs a court orders you to pay the other side are separate and are not covered by this. The agreement you sign controls. Every client receives a written agreement compliant with Business & Professions Code §6147 before representation begins.
No attorney-client relationship
Reading this site, calling, emailing, or submitting a form does not create an attorney-client relationship, and no such relationship exists until both you and the attorney sign a written engagement agreement. Until then, please do not send confidential or time-sensitive information. Submitting an inquiry does not stop any statute of limitations or other deadline from running — deadlines remain entirely your responsibility until representation is confirmed in writing.
Not legal advice
All content on this site — including practice-area pages and the "How Cases Work" explainers — is general educational information, not legal advice, and may not reflect the most current legal developments. Do not act or refrain from acting based on anything here without obtaining advice about your specific situation.
Testimonials
If testimonials or endorsements appear on this site or associated profiles, they do not constitute a guarantee, warranty, or prediction regarding the outcome of your matter.
Privacy policy
What this site collects directly: essentially nothing. This is a static website. It sets no cookies and has no user accounts. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits; Cloudflare states that this service uses no cookies or local storage and collects no personal data. If you arrive through a tagged link (for example, from a social media profile), your browser keeps the name of that source for the length of your visit and it is included with the intake form if you submit it, so the firm knows how you found the site.
What you choose to send. If you call, email, or submit the intake form, you provide contact details and whatever you choose to tell the firm. The intake form itself asks for your name, how and when to reach you, when and where it happened, the type of incident and the medical treatment needed, the names of the others involved, and whether a lawyer already represents you. That information is used solely to evaluate and respond to your inquiry, is treated as confidential as a prospective-client communication under applicable professional rules, and is never sold or shared for marketing.
Third-party services. The intake form is operated by Tally (tally.so), which processes your submission under its own privacy policy. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which may log requests. If a chat widget is enabled at launch, its provider will be disclosed here. Links to external sites are governed by those sites' policies.
Your choices. You may contact [email protected] to ask what information from your inquiry is retained or to request its deletion, subject to professional-responsibility retention obligations.
